Team V is an architectural firm based in Amsterdam specialising in large-scale commercial projects, such as railway stations, high-rise buildings and other complex structures.
The company has worked on a number of high-profile projects, including Rotterdam Central Station, Amsterdam Zuid Station and the HAUT project. Patrick Bil, an architect who creates scale models for Team V, described the ‘knife and cutting mat’ method previously used as laborious, with very little chance of achieving the desired level of detail in the final result.
With the aim of producing faster and more accurate models for the organisation, Bil set about finding the right cutting and engraving technique—one suitable for MDF, acrylic and other materials. In doing so, he researched a wide range of laser machine manufacturers and products. He also requested detailed information and attended demonstrations.
Added value
Bil points out that the most important feature of the laser machine for Team V is its speed. This is because the company needs to produce many high-quality prototypes before the final model is ready. He also notes that BRM’s laser machine is installed and maintained in optimal working condition, whilst the necessary guidance and training to use the machine without any issues is provided.
“The laser machine basically does everything for the model maker.”
Choosing BRM
After working with BRM’s laser cutting machine for over a year, Bils’ conclusion is that BRM Lasers is the best provider in terms of price, product quality, professionalism and reputation.
