The Grafisch Lyceum is a vocational college in Rotterdam specialising in media, design and technology, offering VMBO and MBO courses. The laser machine was originally purchased for the 2D/3D module within the VMBO course ‘Media, Design and ICT’. It is now used by the whole school.

Haitsma Engraving purchased a BRM 90130 laser machine specifically for cutting acrylic. They are a unique company with 40 years’ experience, specialising in engraving.

For Kiwi Electronics, the personalised service and the attractive price of the BRM Original 90130 were hugely important factors during the process of purchasing their machine. Rogier Kerstens of Kiwi Electronics uses the laser machine he purchased to create various products. These include casings for the products they sell themselves, as well as jewellery and projects for their customers. On their website, they offer a range of standard casings. However, if there is a specific combination of items that does not fit within the standard range, they can now customise them. To cut these, they adapt the existing design to the desired dimensions. Their customers supply files for items such as casings, or other items they would like to have engraved. They then work with the customer to determine whether cutting and engraving is possible, and which material can be used. In this way, they essentially offer a kind of laser cutting service.

Laserdesign Zeeland uses the BRM100160 to produce its own products. In addition, owner Corné de Rijke offers laser cutting services to other businesses through his company, Laserdesign Zeeland.

Lasersnijdenservice specialises in laser cutting and engraving a wide range of products. Among other things, they produce signage and are frequently involved in creating models. They also have their own Fablab, which is open to anyone wishing to use the laser machine to create items. Lasersnijdenservice is an expert in the field of model-making.

To increase its production capacity further, PTS Boom opted for an additional BRM 90130, thereby choosing the service they were already familiar with from VROTECH.

Thanks to the generous dimensions and flexibility of the BRM 100160 laser machine, Reli-Pack B.V. can now offer its customer base a wider range of products. Reli-Pack offers more than just attractive packaging; they provide a comprehensive packaging solution. On request, they can also fill packaging for their customers with, for example, liquids, granular materials or powders. In addition, they vacuum-pack plastic blisters and trays, and thermoforming is also one of their specialities. This varied range also included a customer’s request for self-adhesive textile patches to repair outdoor clothing.

At Rijn IJssel in Arnhem, they are using the BRM Original 6090 to their complete satisfaction. The laser machine is used at the site where courses in the creative industries and engineering are held. Thanks to the laser machine, students can bring their designs to life.

Jacco Visser of Shifting Peaks has extensive experience in set and interior design and the world of CNC milling. It was through a FabLab, a public workshop, that he first came into contact with laser technology. It was in Alkmaar, at the Kaasfabriek, that he first became acquainted with laser machines and what they can achieve. There, he started working on smaller items that are simply easier to cut with a laser than with CNC. This was a big difference from working with a milling cutter, which he was used to doing in the past. He immediately decided that, as soon as he had the budget, he would buy a laser machine himself. He chose a BRM laser machine because of its excellent value for money, and in terms of size, the BRM 90130 was the best fit for the items he most frequently lasers within his industry.

Steenspil is a VMBO school in Halsteren. Given the extensive possibilities offered by laser technology in teaching, they see an opportunity to make their lessons even more challenging for their pupils. Ad Wijmans is a construction teacher at Steenspil, a VMBO school. They purchased a BRM 6090 with 100 watts of power. He explains that he felt it would be very engaging for the pupils if they could also create something on a larger scale. That is why he chose this machine with this power rating, which also allows for cutting slightly thicker wooden panels. The purchase price was not much different from that of a smaller machine. Reason enough to purchase the BRM 6090.

Team V is an architectural firm based in Amsterdam specialising in large-scale commercial projects, such as railway stations, high-rise buildings and other complex structures.

Van Keulen Interieurbouw is one of the largest interior design firms in the Netherlands. They provide interior design services and complete shop fittings for clients including hospitality businesses, museums and supermarkets. Every day, they use their BRM Open Bed 150300 to produce various components for their clients.

Miniworld uses their BRM Original 90130 to recreate Rotterdam in miniature. Each house is laser-cut and then spray-painted or hand-painted. Thanks to BRM’s laser machine, Miniworld can produce models very quickly and in great detail.

Odisee uses its BRM Original 100160 laser machine to teach students how to design products. The laser machine is an essential part of the design course.

Studio BEE is a laser studio based in Vught. Here, young entrepreneur Laszlo Meulman creates all sorts of beautiful pieces using his BRM laser machine.

After spending a year working with wood using a demonstration model, Eric van Est of Wood Sensation purchased his second BRM 6090. This time, a brand-new one! Wood Sensation originally started out as a flooring supplier. A supplier of floor oils asked them to produce samples of the wood they use for their floors. Various oil products are applied to colour these samples. Finally, the name of the relevant product is engraved onto the sample. That was the reason for choosing a laser machine. Previously, they outsourced that work because they were doing it for a single supplier. But at present, they carry out this work for seven companies.

Cutting parts for a scale model in-house is far more effective than having it done elsewhere. This was the experience of Rotterdam-based architectural firm GROUP A. At GROUP A, Gabrielis Varnelis is in charge of the laser cutter, and he explains why they chose this machine. “The 90×130 cm format proved to be the best fit for us when we investigated which size of sheet material was most commonly used. It was also the best match when we looked at the materials we use most, such as cardboard and MDF.” The BRM 90130 also suited the size of the scale models they produce most frequently very well.
