Why This Size?
Often, the samples found in color swatches are about 7 cm wide and 25 to 35 cm long. Other dimensions are, of course, possible as well. In any case, a certain number of samples are processed simultaneously in the machine, allowing everything to be lasered in one go. Now that we have two laser machines, we alternate their use a bit.
Other Materials, Too?
They are now working towards using the machines for additional purposes. This year, they’re well-occupied with laser machine orders until the very end. After that, they plan to focus on making other products—such as cutting items for promotional purposes and similar projects. They’re currently gathering ideas for this, including exploring the use of materials like mirrors or acrylic.
Is Training in Laser Cutting and Engraving Necessary?
Eric van Est explains that the course was definitely useful. Their first machine has been in use for a year, and the newest one was recently installed. A more in-depth training session helps ensure they can use the machine as effectively as possible and get the most out of it. They attended the course with two people, though others also work with the machine. A choice had to be made because not everyone could leave at the same time. The person who now knows the most is also the one who works on the sample sets the most, making such training especially valuable for that role. For us as owners, it’s less essential.
"For our application, the BRM laser machine is simply ideal."
Nothing Wrong With That!
They first met VROTECH at a trade show in Belgium, and the contact has been great ever since. When Eric is asked about the price-to-quality ratio of the BRM 6090, he says: “It’s excellent, nothing wrong with that at all!”
