Cotton cloth
70% alcohol
Flashlight
Flathead screwdriver
Allen key
CAUTION. Do not use other cleaning materials. The surfaces of the mirror and lens are very sensitive and can become damaged.
Turn off the laser machine.
Make sure the cotton cloth is clean and has no particles on it that could cause scratches.
Put on the latex gloves.
Remove the mirror near the laser source. This mirror and the second mirror on the Pro, are covered with a metal plate. This plate is fastened with 2 Allen bolts. Unscrew them with an Allen Key. On the other machines these mirrors are covered with a ring. You can unscrew this ring.
The mirror on the laser head is attached with a ring. You can unscrew this ring. If the ring is too tight you can use a flathead screwdriver. There are two slots in the metal ring. You can put the tip of the screwdriver in the slot and carefully apply some force. Be careful not to let the screwdriver slip and damage the mirror.
Once you have the ring loose take the mirror out of the holder.
Wet a piece of cotton cloth with alcohol.
Grab the mirror and rub it with the wetted piece of cloth.
When the mirror is clean, rub over the mirror with a dry piece of the cloth so no stains are left on the mirror.
Place the mirror back in the holder. Be careful to place the mirror with the reflective side facing forward.
Cover the mirror with the metal cover and screw in the Allen bolts.
With the mirror on the laser head, use the flathead screwdriver to tighten the ring back in place, if necessary. The ring should be tight but do not tighten it so much that the mirror is under tension.
Once all the mirrors are clean, it is important to check the mirror alignment. This may have changed because you have been working with the mirror holders.
